True, many grassroots libertarians were against it.

At the national policy level, however, the so-called neo-cons ￢ﾀﾓ- with strong strains of libertarianism ￢ﾀﾓ were the most prominent advocates for the war.

They continue to be.

Perhaps they should simply be called ￢ﾀﾜanti-government Neo-cons,￢ﾀﾝ though I￢ﾀﾙm not sure that would reflect the ideology for which they stand, either.
